How to choose a gynaecologist in Singapore. Start with the reason for your visit. For pregnancy, choose the obstetrician and the delivery hospital together, because your doctor delivers only where they hold admitting rights. For fertility treatment, check that the doctor is an MOH-accredited IVF clinician. For fibroids, endometriosis or ovarian cysts, ask how much of their surgery is laparoscopic (keyhole). For prolapse or bladder leakage, look for a urogynaecology focus, and for an abnormal Pap smear or HPV result, a doctor experienced in colposcopy. Then check practical fit: clinic location, the languages the doctor speaks, whether you prefer a female doctor, and fees. Private consultation fees are set by each clinic and are rarely published, so ask when you book. For reference, KK Women's and Children's Hospital lists private first consultations at S$170.48 to S$222.14 for Singapore citizens (effective 8 August 2026), and Raffles Women's Centre lists S$250.70 plus a S$21.80 practice cost. Subsidised KKH visits with a referral cost S$37.20 to S$101.49.
For surgery and deliveries, the Ministry of Health publishes fee benchmarks: reference ranges for the surgeon's fee in private hospitals, not caps, and excluding hospital and anaesthetist charges.

MediSave for pregnancy and delivery
The MediSave Maternity Package lets Singapore citizens and PRs use their own or their spouse's MediSave for up to S$900 of pre-delivery costs (consultations, scans, tests and medicines), plus a limit for the delivery itself:

Public hospital and subsidised options
For subsidised care, you need a referral from a polyclinic, a CHAS GP or a public hospital. Self-referred patients and those who ask for a named doctor pay private rates, and subsidised patients are seen by a team led by an assigned specialist.

How often should you see a gynaecologist for screening?
Under Healthier SG Screening, women aged 25 and over who have ever been sexually active should have a Pap test every 3 years from age 25 to 29, then an HPV test every 5 years from age 30. Screening at a participating CHAS GP costs S$0 to S$5 for eligible Singapore citizens. A high-risk HPV result leads to a referral to a gynaecologist, usually for colposcopy.
